Upon graduation, he began a career in education spanning more than 30 years in Wellston, Choctaw, and Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Nels worked in three school districts over his career and touched the lives of thousands of students and families alike. He spent decades teaching history and coaching football, baseball, and wrestling. Nels received his master’s degree in the fall of 2015 and began his career as an Administrator a few years later. Over the next six years he worked as the Vice Principal at Tecumseh Middle School, and he held that position with pride until his retirement in the Spring of 2024.
Above all else, Nels loved to spend time with his children, parents, and loving wife Jami. Nels was an avid outdoorsman hunting, fishing, and camping his entire life. He never knew a stranger and could go anywhere anytime and still be the most popular man in the room. Nels loved the Oklahoma State Cowboys, which was instilled in him by his father George Storm at a very young age and would always watch their games with a passion few could match. Nels also loved animals and would always keep a healthy population of dogs at his home in Choctaw, Oklahoma, up until his passing.
