Byron James Shepard

Byron “Barney” James Shepard , 43 , of Castle, Oklahoma, passed away on January 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Vera Bishop; his mother, Pamela Dodson; his father, Dennis Shepard; his step-father, Steve Hargrove; and his daughter, Sidney Edminsten.

Byron is survived by his 5 daughters, Alexis Coker and husband Sam, Kelsey Edminsten, Breanna Shepard, Aubrey Shepard, and Khaleesi Shepard; his son, Byron Shepard Jr.; his 2 grandsons, Lane Coker and Arlo Shepard and another grandson on the way, Hudson Coker.

He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Byron was a quiet, private man who valued his independence. Though he kept to himself his love for his children and grandchildren was deep and unspoken. He will be remembered for the simple, quiet, but mostly goofy moments he shared with those closest to him. 

A private service will be held on behalf of the family at a later date.

Byron will me deeply missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family.
